The France national team have confirmed that, Lucas Hernandez has torn his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) which will rule the 26 year old defender from the world cup and the 2022/2023 season.
Lucas, who had a blistering start in the “Le Bleus” 2022 world cup opener against Australia lasted for only 13 minutes on the pitch and was replaced by his brother Theo Hernandez.
Lucas Hernandez’s injury blow has trimmed Didier Deschamps’s squad to 24 after injured fellow compatriot Karim Benzima was not replaced after her suffered a thigh injury. Deschamps will not be able to Hernandez because, the deadline for player replacement elapsed on Monday November 24th.
Lucas Hernandez was very instrumental in France’s last word cup campaign in 2018 and the 2022 world cup qualifies which he produced brilliant performances. His absence will glaringly felt by the France national team and his club side Bayern Munich. we wish him a speedy recovery.
