Police in India are blaming rats for marijuana. According to them, the rats ate 500 kilos of marijuana.
Over 100 kilos of marijuana and cannabis seized from drag dealers in Northern India are reportedly eaten by rats. The drugs were stored at the police warehouses in Mathur.a
According to court document, the police failed to provide 700kg of confiscated marijuana as requested by the court. In their defence, they stated rat infestation across police warehouses in Mathura as the reason.
Further explanation from the police representative indicated that, it was not the first time the rodents destroyed seized items.
Police warehouses in India are reportedly infested by rodents. Shergarh and Highway police station have also reported similar incidents in the past.
Report indicate that the amount of drugs destroyed is worth $1.3 million.
